The best way to remove your makeup

If you wear makeup almost everyday then you probably feel the same way as I do. You know that moment when you come home and all you want to do is go straight to your bed but then you realize that you need to wash your makeup off but you’re too lazy and end up washing your face just minutes before you fall asleep.

Or… is it just me?

It use to take me about 20 minutes to remove my makeup.

Yes, that long……

but with these 2 products it only takes me half the time and I really don’t dread it as much. So let me tell you how I use to clean my face;

First, I washed my face with Dove soap to remove all my makeup, I use this brand because I love how it has the same PH as our body. Then, I would take a cotton pad and soaked it with the Garnier cleansing water to make sure I didn’t leave any makeup behind. Lastly, I would use whatever face wash I had in hand.

With that said, you kind of get a picture why I hated to wash my face but if I didn’t I would had regret it in the morning.

Say Hello to Drunk Elephant!

This is a brand that everyone has been talking about lately, especially with this product.

I have been using the Beste Jelly Cleanser for about 2 months now, ever since it first launched at Sephora. It takes me about 5-8minutes to remove my makeup. I just add water to my face then I squeeze a good amount into my hands and rub it on my face and neck. You can see your makeup dissolve real quick. Sometimes, I would have to add a little more product to my face if my makeup is waterproof but it still comes off pretty good. Then I will rinse with water.

Usually, I don’t use another cleanser since this cleans really good and it make my skin nice and soft. But every once in a while I will go ahead and use another cleanser right after, depending on how my skin is that day. Overall, you can see why I love this product. It’s fast and easy, and cuts half my time compare to how much it use to take me.

Elemis Spa Cleansing!

If you follow me on Instagram then you would had seen my post from last week about this brand. I just received the Cleansing Balm by Elemis a little over a week ago and I am in LOVE with this product. Like I literally look foward on washing my face, it is that amazing!

I use the spatula that it comes with and add the cleanser in my hands to rub it in a little before I apply it on my face. As soon as you massage it onto your face you can see your makeup dissolving. You mght look scary but it does the job, plus the smell is so good, it’s like you’re at the spa. The best thing I like to do is to wet the mini towel with warm water and lay it on my face just for a minute or so while taking a few deep breaths. Trust me, you will feel so relaxed, it’s amazing! Then you just use the towel to wipe off and you’re good to go.

You can also leave the balm on for 10 minutes as a facial mask. I also noticed, since I been using the cleanser I have been sleeping really good and if you know me I have a sleeping problem. I am not sure if it’s the smell of the product, which is amazing and I love it so much! But I have been sleeping like a baby and it’s so great!

Even if you do not wear makeup, I totally recommend that you try it. Be warned though, you will be hooked.

Both products are amazing! (Can you tell that’s my favorite word)

But hey! It’s the truth!

They both dissolve makeup really good and cleans pollution and any other grime which is a plus for me. I say it all depends on what kind of experience you want and your budget.

If you are into makeup like I am, I highly recommend using one of these, for sure. Please note that if you try the Drunk Elephant, make sure you close the cap really tight. I had never had a problem but I heard from so many people that they didn’t close it tight enough, and all the product leaked out.

Beste Jelly Cleanser by Drunk Elephant – $34

Cleansing Balm by Elemis – $64

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know your thoughts?
